  • Our Identity

HSN is an Academic Health Sciences Centre that provides exceptional healthcare services, supports a welcoming and patient centred teaching environment, and through research, creates and transfers knowledge that improves the care and health outcomes for all people of Northern Ontario. We are a safe and welcoming place for all people. The services we provide in Northeastern Ontario cover an area of approximately 400,000 square kilometers and serves 557,200 people. We accomplish this through partnerships with hospitals, healthcare providers, community organizations, and patients and family members across the North. The population landscape is changing and the teams and partners we work with enable us to create healthcare experiences that support the population health needs of Northeastern Ontario across the lifespan. This includes the needs of Indigenous, Francophone, Black, People of Colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, older adults, pediatrics, differently abled people, equity deserving and other marginalized groups. We believe in fostering an environment of equity, diversity and inclusion for all.
